Named for Rachel Carson, a courageous advocate for a healthy planet, Rachel’s Network is a community of environmental funders nearly 100 women strong. Our network is a place where women can learn more about the most pressing issues facing our world while supporting and challenging one another in their quest to make a difference.

We also increasingly fund solutions collectively. In 2018, our co-funding program granted more than ever before, funding projects addressing pesticide overuse, climate change, sustainable agriculture, and borderlands conservation. This work earned us two awards: the Leadership Award from Philanthropy Women and Environmental Funder of the Year from Inside Philanthropy. Read our 2018 Annual Report to learn more.

In addition, we gathered at meetings large and small, across the country and online, to network and hear from policy and conservation experts including former EPA Director Gina McCarthy and Yosemite Park Superintendent Mike Reynolds. We educated members on the state of environmental policy ahead of the 2018 election, elevated women environmental leaders, funded a wildlands photo exhibit in Congress, advocated for the protection of the Endangered Species Act, and so much more.

We’ve done a lot, but with the environmental challenges we face, we’re planning to do even more in 2019 and the years ahead – build connections, give more, and speak with louder voices for the things that matter. We can’t solve problems alone – only people working together can do that. For women who care about the planet and its inhabitants, Rachel’s Network is a community capable of making change happen. Join us!
