Erosion: Essays of Undoing, by Terry Tempest Williams

Meeting for five, 75-minute Zoom sessions, every other Tuesday from May 24-July 19, from 3-4:15 pm ET on Zoom. Purchase the book on your own (shop local) and join these community gatherings when you can.

Join us this spring and summer to read and discuss Erosion: Essays of Undoing, written by Rachel’s Network Advisor and fierce environmental champion Terry Tempest Williams. This collection of essays, written between 2012 and 2019, explores the idea of erosion—of land, home, self, body, and democracy through stories, poems, and lessons written by one of our greatest essayists. These intentional community conversations will remind us that beauty is its own form of resistance, and that water can cut stone.

“What are the necessary actions we can take in order to realize justice for all? And how do we find the strength not to look away from all that is breaking our hearts?… In the process of being broken open, worn down, and reshaped, an uncommon tranquility can follow. Our undoing is also our becoming.”
– Terry Tempest Williams
