more

Event Details

Many frontline environmental groups have deeply motivated leaders and staff who are paying a heavy price for their dedication, often working without full pay or health benefits. Some leaders are self-funding their organization with other jobs or personal assets. Traditional philanthropy doesn’t prioritize this issue and small grants to environmental justice groups may unintentionally entail women’s unpaid labor.

Speakers JVasi Consulting LLC Principal Jumana VasiWe the People of Detroit President & CEO Monica Lewis-Patrick, and Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO) Executive Director, Kim Wasserman will discuss the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Just Culture report that highlights the problem, and share how funders can support fairer, healthier, and more effective working conditions for those—often women of color—working at the frontlines of environmental protection.

All registrants for the Rachel’s Network 2022 Fall Retreat: Deepening Purpose in Just Environmental Philanthropy are strongly encouraged to attend this webinar, but all members are invited.
