We joined forces with Ashoka to provide funding to women entrepreneurs who are addressing our most serious environmental challenges. Since 2014, we have funded two fellows: Janelle Orsi and Angelou Ezeilo.
Please join us in this effort! If would like to contribute, please email Ariana Carella, Network Engagement Director.
Despite the fact that women of color have higher levels of concern about environmental issues like climate change, they are woefully underrepresented in leadership positions in the environmental community. That’s why, today, we are launching the Rachel’s Network Catalyst Award, to provide women leaders of color support and recognition for their commitment to a healthy planet.
We are proud to announce the second Ashoka Fellow sponsored by Rachel’s Network: Angelou Ezeilo. Through her organization, the Greening Youth Foundation, Angelou is working to change the face of conservation in the United States and help young people of color find meaningful careers in conservation.
Janelle Orsi is one of the leading experts on the sharing economy, a growing movement that applies collaboration to utilize a community’s resources for the common good. Founder of the Sustainable Economies Law Center (SELC) and an Ashoka Fellow supported by Rachel’s Network, Janelle shared this update on how her work is evolving as a result of the Fellowship.
