Ariana Carella, Membership Manager

Ariana Carella supports recruitment and cultivation efforts, manages our regional networking events, and is the staff liaison to our board of directors, Environmental Leadership Liaisons, and Circle of Advisors. She has a wide range of experience in member services, project management, and communications. Her interests include women’s leadership and equity, environmental health, and STEM education for girls.

Erica Flock, Communications Manager

Erica Flock oversees the Network’s website, blog, annual report, social media, and newsletter. She’s also worked in communications and marketing for EarthShare, the National Wildlife Federation, Kumarian Press, and Citizens Climate Lobby. Her writing has appeared in Climate Progress, Rust Wire and the Piedmont Virginian. She’s an advocate for climate policy, the Great Lakes, and sustainable planning & transportation.


Samantha Meyer, Program Manager

As Program Manager, Samantha oversees the Network’s events and meetings, and supports member advocacy programs. Prior to Rachel’s Network, Sam was with Global Zero as Deputy Campaign Director and the ONE Campaign as Field Manager. When not advocating for causes close to her heart, Sam is eating spicy food, in the audience of a live show, or planning her next travel adventure.

Fern Shepard

Fern Shepard, President

Fern Shepard has over 30 years of experience in the environmental community, first as a staff attorney with Earthjustice and later as a senior officer managing international lands conservation programs at The Pew Charitable Trusts. She has worked on issues ranging from securing threatened and endangered species habitat to protecting children and at-risk populations from lead contamination and dangerous pesticides. Fern also serves on Earthjustice’s Board of Trustees and is the mother of three. She is thrilled to be working with Rachel’s Network’s community of women to advance our collective goal of a healthy and thriving world for all.
