Event Details

For the Yup’ik people in Southwest Alaska and the Yurok in Northern California, salmon fishing is a way of life. 2020 Catalyst Award winners Amy Cordalis (Yurok) and Alannah Hurley (Yup’ik) see securing the sovereignty of their communities as inexorably linked to caring for the watersheds the salmon call home. Join this webinar to learn how Amy and Alannah have built successful alliances to protect their tribal livelihoods from industrial development, restored degraded ecosystems, and provided a blueprint for repairing our relationship to the land and each other. Moderated by Kim Milligan.
