more

Event Details

Rewilding Chile recently purchased 231,024 acres in Cape Froward, located in the southernmost tip of South America. This property includes 24 miles of coastline that face the glaciers of the Darwin Mountain Range and the Strait of Magellan and contains rich and endangered biodiversity on both land and sea. Similar to wildly successful rewilding national park projects throughout Chile, this rewilded land will eventually be donated to the Chilean government and converted to both terrestrial and “no-take” marine parks. Rewilding Chile Executive Director and Rachel’s Network Member Carolina Morgado will discuss this large-scale philanthropic effort that seeks to protect entire ecosystems along the Route of Parks of Chilean Patagonia through the creation of marine-terrestrial conservation mirrors.
