Event Details

Join Members Kim Milligan and Abi Rome, American Rivers, and Washington Women’s Foundation to celebrate the success of modern dam removal efforts with a moderated panel and day trip to North Puget Sound. A dam in the Middle Fork of the Nooksack River has blocked salmon, steelhead, and bull trout for nearly 60 years. As a result of collaboration between the City of Bellingham, American Rivers, local indigenous communities, and funding support from philanthropic and agency partners, the dam will be removed in 2020. Guests will hear about important regional topics related to dam removal, be guided on a tour of the Middle Fork Nooksack’s dam removal project, and enjoy a reception in Bellingham.

Time

13 (Friday) 4:30 pm - 14 (Saturday) 6:30 pm PST
