Event Details

Climate Critical Founder and Rachel’s Network Catalyst Award Finalist Tamara Toles O’Laughlin recently published a study of burnout in the climate and environmental workforce. The Climate Burnout Report brought together the experiences of 108 environmental groups, teams, volunteers and staff across the landscape of movement to share their harm, hope and demands for change. The report is deeply revealing and most pertinently showed that those we rely on to work for people and the planet are devoted to their work and are unsupported. The burnout is widespread at all levels but has a specially damaging impact on the future of movements that rely one Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) leaders. Join Tamara in conversation with Climate Critical community members Mary Annaïse Heglar, Dr. Adrienne Hollis, and Dany Sigwalt learn how to support the vital “people parts of our movement” who are working for a more hospitable and healthier planet.
